ABOUT US

Kapa Celtics FC is a grassroots soccer club and development academy based in Cape Town, South Africa. It is run by its founder, Dumisa, who decided to institute the project after the success of his 2018 Youth Day street soccer tournament in the Cape Flats. During his childhood, Dumisa lived in the Cape Flats, one of Cape Town's most underprivileged communities.

The area has historically been the birthplace of many world-class players: Benni McCarthy, Thulani Serero, Ayanda Patosi, and Stephen Pinar, to name a few. Street soccer is a big part of our culture - for boys, a right of passage, so to speak.

The club was formally established in 2022  and has a mission to empower youth in South Africa’s townships. This will give these young players a better chance of succeeding in professional football. Today, the academy has a strong squad of 54 players.

The club strives to become the country's leading source of talented players and provides its players with a quality football education to succeed in professional sports.

Dumisa says ‘’To unearth talented players in our community, we need to address their individual circumstances. This way, we can tailor our program to suit their individual needs. Adolescents thrive in a safe and competitive env amongst inspirational people and proper mentors.’’

As a club, we strive to play attractive, offensive-minded, creative football, both entertaining and with a South African flair.
